Post GS rear calipper
Hi guys

the rear brake calipper from my GS850G is f*cked. One piston came out (with help from the air compressor), the other is stuck and there's no way it will ever come out.

Does any other calipper fit on the GS? Kawasaki maybe?

Thanks - Captain Chaos

Kawasaki Z1000A (round head model) should be the same, if not... I think I have a mildly* f*cked calipper kicking about in the shed.

*mildly means, it should be good after a set of new seals and some cleaning

Thanks.

I have a GPz750 calipper lying at my parrents' place, maybe it will fit.

If not I'll keep yours in mind Greg

I HAVE a gpz caliper on my gs, but it wont fit straight on. I had to use the mounting bracket and fabricate up a new torque arm to suit.
I only used it for the same reasons as you, my gs one was f*cked, and I had some gpz ones lying round, and who cares about the efficiency of the back brake with gs engine braking anyway :)

i never use the back brake since my right ankle is FUBAR.

But the MOT people insist on having a working back brake
